15 month check up

Well, Brady is almost 16 months old and I am just now posting his 15 month check up. In my defense though, his appointment was 2 weeks after his actual 15 month birthday. OK, now I feel better :)

We met Brady's new doctor for this appointment and it went really well. He is doing awesome developmentally and seems to be growing like a weed. He is 31 inches tall (60%), weighs 23 lbs, 8 oz (30%) and his head circumfrence is 46.5 inches (30%).

Brady eats constantly all day long, but he is so active, that he's only gained .25 lbs since his 1 year birthday. The doc isn't worried and neither am I. I just wonder how come I couldn't have only gained .25 lbs since Brady's 1 year birthday? I mean I feel like I am just as active as he is chasing him around all the time, but I guess not :)

Brady is doing so many new things these days, it's hard to name them all. One of the best things, is he is really learning how to communicate, even though he's not quite talking yet. Using baby signs, he tells us when he's hungry, wants more, is all done, is sleepy and when he has a dirty diaper. He will shake his head no if we ask him a question and the answer is no. He doesn't know to shake his head yes yet, so we just know that if we ask him a question and he doesn't say no, then the answer is yes. He knows where his nose, tounge and ears are. He knows what a dog says and he loves to sweep and mop the floors (he's mommy's big helper). He does say a few words, like hi and thank you.

On a different note, MaLyn, Brady and I went to the train station last week and took a tour of the trains. It was really neat as alot of them are from the 50's and 60's. It felt like we were on the set of an I Love Lucy episode or something. We found out they do 2-3 hour train rides with themes, like Murder Mystery, Halloween Ghost Stories and North Pole Express (during Christmas of course) and so we will definatly be signing up for that soon.

Our New House

Well, here it is, the place we will be calling home very soon. We are set to close on Sept. 25 and then we will take a week to do some painting and a couple of minor upgrades and then we will be moving the first weekend in October.

It's in a nice subdivision and the location is great. About 5 miles from Lance's school and 6 miles from Lance's parents. About 8 miles from my doctor and the hospital where we will be delivering. Brady's Mother's Day Out is 5 miles away as well as the closest Starbucks!

It's going to take some adjustment to get used to a 2 story house, but the extra room is well worth it.

Mother's Day Out

Brady started going to Mother's Day Out this week. His first day was Thursday, September 3 - his 15 month Birthday! It is through Leander Christian Preschool and is held at the church where Lance went from the time he was a little kid until he graduated high school.

It's twice a week from 9:15 - 2:15. I think it is going to be really good for Brady and our whole family. Mrs. Mandy is going to be Brady's teacher. You won't believe it, but she is from FRISCO!! When she told me that, I knew Brady was meant to be in her class. She has 2 kids, and another one on the way. Her son is 19 months old and he is also in Brady's class.  Here are some pictures from his first day.

More exciting changes...

We're expecting Baby#2!!! The baby is due on March 21, 2010 and Brady will be about 21 months old. We are so excited to be adding to our family and anxious to see what else God has in store for us :)

I had a something called a NT scan done yesterday. It is a screening test that combines a high-tech sonogram with a bloodtest to determine the risk of the baby having Down's Syndrome or any other chromosomal disorder. The sonogram part went really well, I got to see the baby and strong heartbeat and she said it looks like the risk level for this baby is very low. We'll know the final results when the bloodwork comes back.

But the most exciting part was that she said, "If I had to guess the sex, I would say it was a girl!!" She said she could be wrong because it is very early, but that would be her guess. SO, I guess we still have to wait and get it confirmed in a few weeks, but it looks like we're leaning towards the PINK side this time.
